Constitution Day at UNC-Wilmington

On September 17th, the UNC-Wilmington chapter of Young Americans for Liberty were on campus handing out materials to students and faculty members. (Video after the jump).

Along with pocket US Constitutions provided by the national YAL, they also handed out fliers with the following quotes on the Constitution:

"The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government - lest it come to dominate our lives and interests." -Patrick Henry

"The government was set to protect man from criminals -- and the Constitution was written to protect man from the government. The Bill of Rights was not directed against private citizens, but against the government -- as an explicit declaration that individual rights supersede any public or social power." -Ayn Rand

<!-- -->

Aside from one student literally telling them that they murdered babies for opposing the welfare state (seriously), the day went off without a hitch.  Several dozen new students signed up, and many more stopped by to learn about YAL.  This was all accomplished with just a small table set up in a high-traffic area of campus.
